“How to turn XR to a commercial art form”
to be held in the framework of the Venice Immersive Market 2022, Saturday 3 September from 11 to 12.30.
Starting from the experience of two VR projects supported by Creative Europe MEDIA, the panel discussion aims to explore how to make immersive content and new forms of creation accessible to a wider audience through innovative models for collaborations, sales strategies and circulation. The panel will be introduced by a welcome talking on the policy work of the European Commission on immersive content held by Lucia Recalde Langarica, Head of Unit Audiovisual Industry and Media Support Programmes, DG Cnect EC.
Joining us on our panel todate, to share their expertise and knowledge, are:
Paul Bouchard, VR Acquisitions & international distribution, Diversion cinema, FR; Rossella Schillaci, director of the VR experimental documentary "Affiorare" (Surfacing) a coproduction My Boss Was (IT) and Laranja Azul (PT); Philipp Wenning, director and VR producer of the VR project "The Towers of February", Studio Philipp Wenning Expanding Focus GmbH (DE); Babette Wijntjes, distributor, Cassette (NL) presenting an innovative pilot project introducing immersive media into cinemas.
Moderator: Ulrich Schrauth, artistic director VRHAM! Virtual Reality and Arts Festival (DE)
A Q&A session will be part of the programme. We address to VR producers and creators, scriptwriters, distributors, exhibitors, museum or exhibition curators and everyone interested in the topic of circulation of immersive content.
A networking cocktail will follow.
